We NEED Wise Human Beings Now More Than Ever!
Oct 24, 2024The Problem with AI Content
AI Generated Content lost me more newsletter subscribers in 1 day than in the history of my newsletter.
I was curious what would happen posting an AI generated article.
I typically write only what I feel deeply inspired to share versus sharing fluffy content or surface level topics people can get anywhere.
But this time I took a chapter of my book and thought I’d see how AI could turn it into an article for me. I didn’t edit or change what it provided. I just posted it.
Now, I may have lost those subscribers for another reason. They may not be enjoying my articles in general, they may not have liked the topic, the time of day it was posted, or they may just feel like they have too many newsletters.
Or it could be that the first AI article I generated just felt “off” and people disengaged. AI writes without error, whereas my writing is imperfect, and I make mistakes.
Keeping up with AI content deployment as a single human is hard!
Tons of people are using AI to generate loads of regurgitated content on an infinite number of topics. People are publishing AI generated books at insanely high rates. Books filled with information but not necessarily helpful or impactful.
Those skilled in the use of AI and how to use it for SEO, marketing, and gaining sales are at a huge advantage. The old-fashioned way of building a business, gaining followers, providing valuable content is quickly being replaced by technology generated material.
Pardon me for stating the obvious, but AI is not the same as a human being.
AI doesn’t come up with creative and uniquely human ways of experiencing and approaching the world.
What is the difference between AI & Humans?
What is the difference between what AI generates and what a human is capable of doing?
Well, I just asked ChatGPT and here was its answer:
AI: The difference between what AI generates and what a human is capable of doing with knowledge centers on the nature of processing, reasoning, and creativity:1. Processing of Information
- AI: AI can rapidly analyze vast amounts of data, recognize patterns, and generate responses or insights based on the input and programmed algorithms. However, AI lacks true understanding or consciousness—it follows predefined rules and models trained on data.
- Humans: Humans process information with the ability to contextualize it in real-world situations, draw on personal experiences, and adapt reasoning dynamically. Humans can interpret subtleties, emotions, and nuances that AI may not fully grasp.
2. Creativity and Intuition
- AI: While AI can generate creative outputs (such as art or text), these creations are based on patterns and examples it has been exposed to, not true originality or inspiration. It lacks the intuition that humans bring to novel situations.
- Humans: Human creativity and intuition are driven by imagination, experiences, emotions, and subconscious thought processes. Humans can generate completely original ideas, solve complex problems through insight, and innovate in ways that transcend data and patterns.
3. Ethical and Moral Reasoning
- AI: AI operates without ethical or moral understanding. It can be programmed to follow rules based on ethical guidelines, but it does not possess its own moral compass or ability to reason about right and wrong.
- Humans: Humans are capable of ethical and moral reasoning, applying values, empathy, and ethical considerations in decision-making. This allows them to navigate complex human interactions, societal issues, and moral dilemmas in ways that AI cannot.
4. Learning and Growth
- AI: AI learns through data exposure and model training, but its learning is limited to what is programmed and what it is exposed to. It cannot experience growth, reflection, or personal transformation.
- Humans: Human learning is dynamic, self-driven, and influenced by personal experiences, emotions, and reflection. Humans can grow in wisdom, change their perspectives, and improve their understanding through life experiences and knowledge gained over time.
In short, AI is exceptional at processing and generating information quickly, but humans excel at applying deep understanding, creativity, and ethical reasoning to knowledge in ways that reflect their unique consciousness and personal growth.
Knowledge Isn't Wisdom
We live in a world with infinite access to knowledge, but it isn’t making us more intelligent. Knowledge alone doesn’t equate to truly integrated wisdom or ability to take action.
Do you ever know what to do, why it’s important, and how to do it but still don’t do it?
Think eat healthy, exercise, spend time developing, consciously communicate…
All the time! Right?
Because we are human beings not machines. Human beings are made up of neural pathways throughout our bodies and those pathways are what direct our ways of being - thinking feeling and behaving.
Knowledge alone will never be enough for us to develop evolve or transform our ways of being.
AI can’t literally connect to another human being (brain and heart frequencies), sense their experience and share compassion and empathy. It can attempt to fake or imitate it, like the many AI coaches, but they are just programmed responses, not genuine insight, emotion, or intuition.
Before technology, our evolution occurred in response to our experiences and environments in order to better help us survive. As a species, humans have continually expanded our capabilities and capacity to become greater more intelligent human beings.
Human beings have evolved and expanded our intelligences by leaning into and leveraging our uniquely human curiosity, creativity, compassion and courage.
We’ve found new ways to acquire and produce food, heal and prolong life, create new music and art, invent new ways to play, and discover more about ourselves and our world. We’ve explored different markets, experienced various societal structures, and continued to grow and evolve into wiser more intelligent human beings.
If we begin to use AI in ways that replace our humanness, we will cease to evolve.
We will become increasingly distanced, distracted, disengaged, disconnected, and diseased. We will feel more isolated, stagnant, and stressed.
Which is exactly what the data has been showing is happening for the last few years.
What Can We Do?
Ultimately, it will be up to leaders to make wise decisions regarding technology in our businesses, governments, and cultures. But for leaders to do so, they must understand how their bodies operate.
Leaders must learn how to:
- Put their neural networks into a state where they are operating at their best.
- Access the communications from all their neural networks.
- Identify when they are constrained or misaligned and bring them into alignment.
- And finally, they must actually apply them in their work and life.
This approach is what I am passionately trying to spread and share in the world. A multiple intelligence approach to leading, working, and living.
I'm on a mission to amplify human wisdom in the world. To evolve leaders to become wiser more creative compassionate and courageous leaders. To evolve workplaces to better support the humans within them in ways that enhance capabilities and expand capacity.
I truly want to help people evolve. But in a world with so much information overload, cluttered inboxes, contradictory messaging, and nearly infinite options for everything, time, attention and commitment are hard to acquire.
We miss the solutions that could transform our life, improve our leaders, and propel our businesses to the next level simply because we don’t know where to look or who to trust.
For me, the road to identifying, creating, bringing a truly transformational solution to market has been long and hard.
It’s easy to sell people what they want, it’s much harder to sell people on what will really truly make a difference.
Yet, I continue on, persevering in the face of hardship with the hope that the most courageous of leaders will recognize the need and say "yes" to an opportunity that will create unparalleled outcomes.
Are you that compassionate, creative, and courageous leader I am looking for? If so, please reach out to me to connect.
Do you know a compassionate, creative, and courageous leader who would resonate with this message? If so, please share it with your connections.
Help me to make a positive impact in the world and break through all the "noise" generated by AI and flooding our inboxes and feeds with ineffective "quick fixes" to complex challenges.
